Transfection Reagent
Polyethyleminine (PEI) is a large organic polymer with a high density of positive charge. It contains protonated amino nitrogen atoms every two carbon atoms making it highly prone to binding with negative charged nucleic acid molecules. This results in the formation of positively charged complexes that can easily bind to anions on the cell surface. These complexes can then enter the cells through endocytosis and are resistant to degradation by lysosomes, thereby enhancing the expression level of nucleic acid molecules. This characteristic makes it an effective carrier and delivery medium. PEI is widely used as an efficient, convenient, low-toxicity, and cost-effective transfection reagent in various applications ranging from antibody drug development, recombinant protein production, to gene/cell therapy viral vectors production, both in the laboratory and in clinical settings.
Ubri-transpower is optimized transfection reagents that composes of cationic polymer- PEI and transfection enhancer. In PEI transfection system, PEI/ nucleic acid complex enters into the cell via endocytosis and release nucleic acid (DNA or RNA). This product is free of animal-derived components and is compatible with serum-containing and serum-free systems. It provides stable and high transfection efficiency in various cell lines, such as HEK293/HEK293T.
